Analysis of customers' impatience in observable single-server Markovian queue with multiple working vacations and vacation interruptions

Amina Angelika Bouchentouf, Abdeljebbar Kandouci

Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to study an infinite buer single-server Markovian queueing system with multiple working vacations, vacation interruptions, Bernoulli feedback, balking, reneging and retention of reneged customers. It is assumed that arriving customers can observe both the state of the server and the number of the present customers in the system before making decision whether to join the system or balk. During the vacation period, customers may be impatient and leave the system. By using a certain mechanism, the reneged customers can be retained in the system for getting service. If the service is uncomplete or unsatisfactory, a customer can return to the system as a feedback customer for receiving another regular service. The equations of the steady state probabilities are derived. Then, some useful measures of performance are carried out. Furthermore, a sensitive numerical analysis is carried out.

Keywords

Queueing models, multiple working vacations, vacation interruptions, balking, reneging, Bernoulli feedback.
