Almost Unbiased Estimation Procedures of Finite Population Mean Under Non-Response in Sample Surveys

G. N. Singh, S. Suman, M. Khetan

Abstract

This paper suggests some classes of ratio-type estimators of population mean of the study variablein presence of non-response. The propertiesof suggested classes of estimators are examined and the optimum choices of unknown weights have been derived which make the suggested classes of estimators almost unbiased. Empirical studies are carried out to demonstrate the superiority of the proposedclasses of estimators over conventional unbiased estimator and natural ratio estimator when non-response occurred during sample surveys.
