Real-time Solar Panel Indexation and Monitoring using Digital Video Watermarking with an Embedding System

S. Lafkih, Y. Zaz

Abstract

Currently, solar plant occupies a large land area and contains a huge number of solar panels which need a remote monitoring of their state. In this paper, we propose a process to ensure a remote monitoring in “real time” mode using an embedding system equipped with the raspberry card, GPS, thermometer and camera modules. This system offers the possibility of indexing a captured video, we start by capturing all information from the solar plant; we talk about GPS coordinate, temperature, date and time then we hide on each video frame their related data using the digital video watermarking techniques. In the monitoring side, an authorized person can extract the panel’s image and its hidden data. The proposed method allows a high efficiency in terms of accuracy, data security, and retrieving data quickly.
