Relative Object Tracking using Background Features

This paper discusses about the importance of background features or parameters in object tracking. We have proposed a new approach for object tracking based on background features/parameters. The concept of object tracking using background features is based upon the scientific principle of relative localization and the principle of natural appearance of increase or decrease in the speed of object based on distance from the location of the camera. The second principle has been utilized for depth modeling of the foreground objects and the background information has been used not only to improve the depth modeling but also to learn to better localize. Definite improvement was observed using this method in object localization process. Proposed method also works in real time having less computationally intensive algorithm.
