Fast and Secure Image Transfer with a Mixed Encoder Based Encryption Combined with Compression

F. Gmira, S. Hraoui, A. Saaidi, A. Jarrar Oulidi, K. Satori

This article investigates image security for transmission in digital networks using a hybrid coding based on juxtaposed encryption and compression and that by combining the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) with which the majority of images are compressed. A step-by-step explanation is given to demonstrate the operation of the constructed Crypto-compression scheme. The performance of the proposed scheme is proven by the running time, quality of encoded images and finally the security analysis. The simulations verify the robust encryption and the scheme's promising and simple adaptation by maintaining a reasonable computational cost and a good harmony between security and compression rate, the scheme is efficient and advisable for low-power devices.
