Traffic Management in Cloud Data Centers

Anjali Ajayan, G. Anusooya

Abstract

Cloud computing is one of the latest and trendingtechnology in the IT world, and it is having enormous scope. Attaining efficiency in cloud data centers is of paramount importance. The use of optimized traffic management helps in attaining efficiency in cloud data centers. Load balancing is an effective way in which traffic management can be done in cloud data centers. To do traffic management in a scalable aspect it is better to use VLANs. The main problem while using VLANs is the size of its search space. In order to overcome this huge search space problem a new as well as effective technique known as Column Generation can be used. The technique aims to achieve a scalable traffic management by load balancing. It tries to minimize the maximum link load in the network. The algorithm proves to be more effective than the existing approaches.
