Tests of Hypotheses in a Set of LC-MS Profiles

We describe an application of a universal basic regression algorithm for the comparison of marker peak areas in spectral sets. In our case, it is a set of liquid chromatographymass spectrometry (LC-MS) profiles. “Tests in a set of orthogonal polynomial regressions” is the basic principle of this approach. This new regression algorithm aims at recognition of quantitative dependences of (bio)markers in general. Here, a special emphasis is put on application in targeted LC-MS methods for analysis of peptides and proteins, which has made great progress in the last years.
