An Economic Analysis of Construction Workers in Tirunelveli District

Abstract



The construction sector is important in gross capital formation activity in the country's economy. Construction should be regarded as the mother of productive activities and it is inter-linked with most of the other sector in an economy. Considering both the time available for the study and the need to have a sufficiently large sample to allow statistical analysis 711 construction workers households were selected randomly for the study. The main objectives of the study to study the economic condition of the construction workers of three categories namely skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled in the study area.
