Simulation Model for Transportation Flows and its Nexus to Economic Growth under Small Sample Size

Transportation flows and its contribution to economic growth have played significant roles in transportation planning and control. Due to the limitation of sample size, traditional statistical analysis may become to be not robust and valid any more. Hence, grey systematic correlation was employed to address the nexus between particular transportation flows and economic growth. The results indicate that the method of grey systematic correlation is more robust under small sample size, while the results derived from statistical correlation is not identical with actual situation.
