Structural Equation Model of Web Services Business for Tourist Hotel Industry in China

The birth of Web Services has brought many business opportunities to the service industry. In the customer-oriented point of view, this study explores the impact of providing Web Services on the business model innovation and operating performance of the hotel industry. This study distributed questionnaires to tourist hotels in China and analyzed 375 valid questionnaires. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test the model goodness-of-fit and verify research hypotheses. The empirical results show that hotels using Web services can effectively implement business model innovation and improve operating performance. The contribution of this study is to understand the role of Web Services in the business model innovation process through empirical analysis of China’s tourist hotel industry.
