A Novel effective wind speed soft measurement model for wind turbine

Ren Haijun

Abstract

As the wind speed in rotor swept region is difficult to be measured directly, a soft measurement of effective wind speed is proposed. After analyzing effective wind speed system principle, wind speed in the fore part of the drive train is calculated by motor velocity in the rear of the drive train. Then, the soft drive train model of wind turbine is built and the conversion between motor velocity and rotor speed will be realized. Based on the character of sample data, using least squares support vector machine forecasts data and updating sample data through online improves the model. Simulation results show that the proposed soft measurement model of effective wind speed is feasible.
