Power Size-Biased Lindley Distribution with Applications

Shakila Bashir

Abstract

A two parameter distribution named power size-biased Lindley distribution (PSLD) is proposed in this article. Various statistical properties of the PSLD have been derived including moments, inverse moments, Shannon entropy, mode, median and reliability measures as reliability function, hazard rate function, reversed hazard rate function and cumulative hazard rate function. Finally, proposed model applied on some real life data sets and compared with existing distributions. It can be seen that the proposed model PSLD is providing better fit and more flexible as compare to the compared distributions. For the bladder cancer data PSLD is showing better fit than power Lindley (PL), exponentiated Lindley (EL) and Lindley (L).
