Vehicle Fault Diagnosis Based on the Fuzzy Theory

Hong Zhang, Zhijie Gai

Abstract

Remote vehicle diagnose system is created to solve the problem of geographical limitations of resource sharing in traditional vehicle diagnosis, guide the drivers to operate, and provide professional repair scheme. The vehicle fault has the characteristics of complex problems and uncertainty. Fuzzy theory is introduced to solve the problems of qualitative description from drivers into quantitative. Moreover, the fuzzy relationship between vehicle fault phenomenon and fault reasons is expressed by setting the membership functions and fuzzy relation matrix. Lastly, the quantitative analysis of real cases is proposed. The fuzzy theory and expert system for vehicle fault diagnosis method is proved accurately by the algorithm analysis and real cases.
