Efficient Exponential Estimators of Population Mean in Survey Sampling

Etebong P. Clement

Abstract

It is established that the efficiency performance of most improved ratio and product estimators depend on some optimality conditions. This paper develops a new approach that produces a more precise and efficient exponential ratio and product type estimators that are superior both in efficiency and biasedness without dependence on any optimality conditions. The efficacy of the new exponential estimators was tested through a simulation study that compared their efficiency performances with a corresponding global estimator. Analytical results proved the dominance of these new proposals over the global estimator. Analysis and evaluation are presented.
