Using Two-Phase Sampling Scheme for Estimating the Population Mean in Stratified Random Sampling under Non-Response

Manoj K. Chaudhary, Saurabh

Abstract

In the present paper, we have proposed combined-type family of estimators for estimating the population mean in stratified random sampling under non-response. In order to propose the family of estimators, we have utilized the information on an auxiliary variable and used two-phase sampling scheme under the situation in which the population mean of auxiliary variable is not known. The properties of the proposed family have been discussed. A theoretical study on cost of the survey is carried out to strengthen the applications of the suggested family. An empirical study has also been carried out to support the theoretical results.
