Analytical Investigation of Jeffery-Hamel Flow by Differential Transform Method

N.D. Patel, Ramakanta Meher

Abstract

In this study, the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in a converging and diverging channel that arises in fluid flow between two non parallel plane walls that is known as jaffery hamel flow is considered and conservation laws along with suitable similarity transform are used to obtain a highly nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) which governs the Jaffery Hamel flow. The velocity profiles in the jaffery hamel flow along with the convergent of the solution has been obtained by using Differential Transform method (DTM). The obtained numerical results has been compared with the existing solutions in literature both analytical and numerical for the validation of the results. It is observed that DTM is more efficient and requires less amount of computational to maintain a very high accuracy level. Influence of different parameters on velocity profiles is also discussed and demonstrated graphically.
