Driving Simulator and Statistical Analysis for Driver Stress Training

CHEN Ying

Abstract

The drivers’ high stress state has a great impact on drivers' response capacity in emergency, and scarce response capacity in the specific situation is one of the main causes of traffic accidents in sudden emergencies. Driver stress theory is some broken and whether the stress response ability can be raised and enhanced by training is an urgent need to answer the basic question. Its methods’ effectiveness and training standards are the main concern of popularization and application. The paper resolved these basic problems in driver stress research. Firstly, Combined with driving stress forming process and the theory of dynamic stereotype, the theory that the capability of driver stress response can be raised through training of driver stress training was built up. Secondly, driver stress training system was designed using virtual reality technology and sensor technology. Finally, simulation experiment was carried out on driving simulator loaded the driver stress training system. Physiological indicators were gathered by physiological instrument MP150 and a key physiological indicator was picked up as the critical experimental parameter. The experimental data statistic analysis results displayed that the capability of driver stress response was gradually enhanced with the increase of training times. Findings from the study provided effective theoretical and data support in driver stress research, and provided the driver stress scenarios designing and usability evaluation with methodological support.
