Genetic Algorithm Modeling for Rafting Traffic

Y. L. Zhang, Y. C. Zhang, H. F. Shan

Abstract

River rafting is an emerging entertainment form by which people can enjoy natural view along a river on boat. Given the rise in popularity of rafting traffic, relative managers are eager to find a better formulation of rafting program. The targets include maximal visitors and minimal contact among the travelers. By using the genetic algorithm, we build a model that allows visitors to choose the trip subscription they want. We make reasonable arrangements for all the packages by coordinating the date to start, the daily path and the combination of duration and propulsion. The model pursues maximum amount of boats with minimal contact with each other. By using the data of Grand Canyon River Trips as reference?we conclude that our simulation reflects the reality to the greatest extent.

Keywords
