On the Qualitative behaviour of a human-mosquito model for Malaria with multiple vector control strategies

E.A Bakare

Abstract

which Africa has a heavy malaria burden. In this regard, We hereby formulate and analyzed a mathematical model of a human-mosquito model for Malaria with multiple vector control strategies. We calculate the basic reproduction number with and without the control and carried out a detail qualitative analysis of the deterministic model with respect to stability of the disease free and endemic equilibria. It is found that in the presence of multiple
vector control strategies the malaria disease transmission is reduced to a minimal level in the population. We applied the center manifold theory to show if the model exhibit a phenomenon of subcritical bifurcation if the threshold parameter crosses one. and we further carried out detailed sensitivity analysis of the malaria model to examine the effect of the model parameters on the transmission of the disease and as well on the Reproduction number. We established the effect of the multiple vector control strategies on the dynamical behaviour of the system using numerical simulation to illustrate.
