A Flexible Extension of Generalized Half-Normal Distribution: Characterizations and Regression Models

Abstract



We propose a new lifetime distribution called Beta Odd Log-logistic Generalized Half-Normal distribution. Some of its mathematical properties as well as some useful characterization results are presented. The maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the model parameters by means of a graphical Monte Carlo simulation study. Moreover, we introduce a new log-location regression model based on the proposed distribution. The martingale and modified deviance residuals are defined to detect outliers and evaluate the model assumptions. The potentiality of the new regression model as well as its flexibility are illustrated by means of the real data sets.
