Optimization of Economic Dispatch Using Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm

Abstract



Economic dispatch problem is one term to optimize electrical power distribution from active generators to pressure the cost of production as minimum as possible but still keep the minimum and maximum limitation of each generator. One of the solution of this problem is using the Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm method, so the optimal solution which is minimum total cost can be obtained. After that, web based software will be build to help the calculation process and obtain minimum total cost faster. The purpose of this software is to help user to obtain the optimum total cost (minimum total cost) of electrical power. As the results, we can make a conclusion that Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm give an optimal cost of generating units than the cost from data source.
