Occam's Window Selection in Bayesian Model Averaging Modeling for Gene Expression Data from Chickpea Plant

Abstract



Chickpea (Cicer Arietinum) plants is the 3rd Legume plants of the Leguminosae (Fabaceae) family. This plant is much needed in the world where fruit-shaped pods, high protein seeds, and roots contain symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria from the air. Modeling the differences in gene expression data of Chickpea plant tissue between the healthy and diseased conditions needs to be done to see how resistance this plant against pathogenic fungal disease Ascochyta Rabiei in order to increase production. This paper would demonstrate the Occam's Window method coupled with Bayesian Model Averaging to select the best component model. The result shows the best model of Chickpea plant with 98.32% for gene ID with defence function and 98.33% for gene ID with energy function.
