Application of Gray Neural Network in the Prediction of Slope Deformation

Abstract


In recent years, the intelligent methods applied in the prediction of slope deformation for the purpose of evaluating the safety condition in mining areas have gained great popularity among researchers. In view of the characteristics of the deformed slope data featuring small quantity, poor information and high nonlinearity, this paper constructs a gray neural network to predict slope deformation in mining areas, integrating gray theory with neural network method, making the best use of gray model’s advantage in processing small data and neural network’s advantage in dealing with nonlinearity. The experiment result indicates that the gray neural network is effective in the prediction of slope deformation since the prediction accuracy is desirable.
