Coordinated Control of Multi-intersectional Traffic Signals in Road Network

Liqiang Fan

Abstract

Aimed at the problem of public cycle limit in the model of trunk road coordinated control, on the premise that vehicles keep constant speed and phase difference of traffic signals of adjacent intersections is taken integer, to work out methods of coordinated control for signal which has different signal cycle. Theorem provides the minimal delay time of sectional road when signal cycle of adjacent intersection is equaled. If the signal cycle of adjacent intersection is unequaled, the minimal average delay time is no related to the phase difference when the difference of signal cycle of adjacent intersections is co-primed with signal cycle. When the difference of signal cycle of adjacent intersections is reducible with signal cycle, then we can get the existence and calculation method of minimal average delay time. Experiments illustrate the rationality of these theorems.
