Welding Deformation Simulation and Controlling for the Truck Rack Girder Based on HyperMesh and ANSYS

In this paper the welding deformation of the truck rack girder is analyzed and simulated by inherent strain method, based on HyperMesh and ANSYS softwares. The simulated and calculated results provide the theoretical basis for presetting the anti-deformation value of the truck rack girder. The measured data of the practical production shows that, if the simulated result of the anti-deformation on the truck rack girder is preset by the designed special welding fixture in advance, the maximum lateral bending deformation value can be controlled in 4 mm, and the maximum error is 1.2mm between the simulated and measured data for 7000mm length and 6mm thickness truck rack girder. By this way, the dimensional precision and welding quality of the truck rack girder welding assembly can be guaranteed.
