Attitude Stabilization of the Tri-axial Satellites using Active Magnetic Control

In the present work the attitude control problem of the Tri-axial satellites is considered. The equation of attitude motion is constructed. Different magnetic field models are mentioned and discussed. The magnetic control torque is separated into two parts; the first one is a restoring torque and the second one is a damping torque. The generalized energy integral is considered as the Lyapunov function. Asymptotic stability of the equilibrium orientation is investigated. The satellite relative equilibrium orientations are determined. some special cases which adopt the analytical solution are obtained. Numerical realization of the proposed method is illustrated.
