HIV Deranges Immune System Dynamics through Stochastic Fluctuations

A. K. Saha, S. N. Sarbadhikari

Abstract

Mathematical modeling of HIV is resulting in better understanding and prediction of the behavior of the virus. Earlier we had done deterministic modeling of human immune system. Now we are introducing, in that model, a random term (stochastic fluctuation) arising from HIV population as an effect on Helper T-cells ( h T ) dynamics. Our model is predicting that the ratio of HIV replication and HIV population size is the key factor for HIV-1 pathogenesis. We are trying to quantify the effects, which are yet to be proven experimentally by anyone.
